The Genius of Place: The Life of Frederick Law Olmsted

A new biography on the life of Frederick Law Olmsted explores his roots as a reformer, as a journalist championing the abolitionist movement, and as the man who gave us some of the nation’s most treasured green spaces, from Central Park to Boston’s own Emerald necklace. Today we talk to author Justin Martin about his latest endeavor, Genius of place: The Life of Frederick Law Olmsted. Justin Martin will be speaking about his book tonight at the Harvard Book Store at 7 p.m.
