April is National Poetry Month, but for people seriously invested in this literary art- from poets, to professors, to the passionate reader- it belongs to ALL months. With so many poets feeling that they’re writing only for their peers, with so many readers feeling like they’ve been left out on a linguistic joke-- it’s no wonder we always hear someone pose the proverbial question: 'Is poetry dead?'

This hour we dare to answer that with a resounding no. With celebrated local poet Gail Mazur, Boston performance poet and SlamMaster Simone Beaubien, and New York Times poetry critic David Orr, we’re celebrating both the art and utter delight of reading what –at it’s best-- is the closest and most vital thing to the truth.
