Seekonk native Andrew Skurka started adventuring in a big way. He finished his studies at Duke University, headed out to the Appalachian Trail, and did a thorough-hike of the entire thing: over 2,000 trail miles- from Georgia to Maine- by foot. He didn't stop there. Packing light and moving quick, he hiked the entire U.S., coast-to-coast; the Pacific Rim trail; the Grand Canyon; and his most ambitious project: a 4,700-mile circuit--by ski, raft, and foot--of Alaska and the Yukon, the first of its kind. Now he's back from hiking campaigns and working on his ultra-running--and maybe planning his next adventure. We catch up with him in Boulder, Colorado. See photos of his trip here.
