Tonight: President Obama to Address the Nation on Intervention in Syria


obamaPresident Barack Obama told PBS NewsHour's Gwen Ifill that he favors diplomacy to a military strike against Syria and that he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin about a potential plan for Syria to turn over its chemical weapons. A day before his prime-time address to the nation justifying military action in Syria, the president admitted that he may never get a majority of Americans to back a strike against Syria, especially after a decade of war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tonight he gives America his proposal.
