Unfortunately, Downton Abbey did not sweep the Emmys. A very deserving Elizabeth McGovern was passed over in favor of that scene chewing Mildred Pierce actress. I can only hope she is recognized next season for her very fine, nuanced portrayal.

I really enjoy being able to view Masterpiece/Mystery episodes on the WGBH members site. Lately I find that some things are out of date...Any comment?

Loved the Downton series. When are the next 4 going to be available to watch?

A stately country house, a noble family, and a succession crisis caused by the sinking of the Titanic are the backdrop for this epic drama by Oscar-winning writer Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) starring Hugh Bonneville, Maggie Smith, Elizabeth McGovern, and other great actors in a production that brings a glittering bygone era to life.
