When the highly anticipated third season of Mr. Selfridge begins on WGBH’s Masterpiece Classic, it’s 1919 and war in Europe has ended, but the life of Harry Gordon Selfridge (Jeremy Piven) lies in ruins. The flamboyant American entrepreneur has lost his wife to influenza and all but lost the struggle to govern his London department store; the arrival of his headstrong daughters, Rosalie and Violette, ushers in a new set of problems. And that’s before he crosses paths with troublemaking Russian princess Maria de Bolotoff (Zoe¨ Wanamaker).
