Mass Decision 2010

Four Republicans will compete for their party's nomination this fall in a high stakes race to be the next Congressman from the 10th district, which stretches from Quincy to the Cape and Islands. When the incumbent, Democrat Bill Delahunt, announced his retirement earlier this year, it set off a scramble for the post. It's considered the Republican's best shot to win a seat in Massachusetts - and the GOP's hopes are high, especially after 60% of voters in the 10th went for Scott Brown over Martha Coakley in the Senate election this past winter. Political reporter Sarah Birnbaum has been on the campaign trail with the candidates for the seat: Republicans Joe Malone, Jeff Perry, Robert Hayden and Ray Kasperowicz .
