What was so wrong with the things she said? She was asked how she personally felt about an issue and how she felt as a journalist. Maria Elena Was just being real and giving her honest opinions. its only a shame if you expect people to sugarcoat things for you .

I find it hard to believe that your guest on this evenings program is a journalist. Did she not learn about the importance of maintaining a neutral and open minded attitude in the interpretation of national attitudes and events. From what I perceived in her comments, this "journalist" is bigoted and narrow in her understandings. We have come to expect better than this from WGBH. Shame!

Mexican American journalist Maria Elena Salinas is one of the most recognized Latina journalists in the US. Since 1981, Salinas has been the anchor of Univision's nightly newscast. She talks with Hinojosa about her professional and personal life, including the discovery of a family secret.
