Featuring Ralph Peterson And Louis Hayes 5/20/2011

Give the drummer some! Ralph Peterson, born on May 20, 1962, is no stranger to 89.7FM. He has recorded and performed live in our WGBH Fraser Studio. He also teaches at Berklee College of Music. And he's recorded with everyone from Branford and Wynton Marsalis to Betty Carter and Geri Allen.

Also: Hey Louis! Drummer and band leader Louis Hayes, born May 31, 1937, came out of the Detroit jazz scene in the mid-1950s, still in his teens, and has been going strong ever since. He has worked with the likes of John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley; Horace Silver and Oscar Peterson. His most recent recording, Lou's Idea came out earlier this year.
