America's History Detectives prove that an object found in an attic or backyard might be anything but ordinary. Tukufu Zuberi, professor of sociology and the director of the Center for Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, Gwendolyn Wright, professor of architecture at Columbia University, Elyse Luray, independent appraiser and expert in art history, and Wesley Cowan, independent appraiser and auctioneer, leave no stone unturned as they travel around the country to explore the stories behind local folklore, prominent figures, and family legends.
In 1969, six major artists, conspired to put a tiny chip of their artwork on board Apollo 12. A Florida art curator has a clone of the chip. He wants to know if the original made it to the moon. Gwen Wright's investigation leads to a man named John F. although his identity remains a mystery. HISTORY DETECTIVES asks fans to come forward with any information that might help solve this case.
