About History Detectives
America's History Detectives prove that an object found in an attic or backyard might be anything but ordinary. Tukufu Zuberi, professor of sociology and the director of the Center for Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, Gwendolyn Wright, professor of architecture at Columbia University, Elyse Luray, independent appraiser and expert in art history, and Wesley Cowan, independent appraiser and auctioneer, leave no stone unturned as they travel around the country to explore the stories behind local folklore, prominent figures, and family legends.
In a 1940's Pittsburgh Pirates program, our contributor found a scorecard for a game between the Majors' All Stars and Robinson's All Stars. Jackie Robinson's team is made up of both black and white players, yet this game appears to have occurred before Robinson became the first black major league baseball player in 1947.
