About History Detectives
America's History Detectives prove that an object found in an attic or backyard might be anything but ordinary. Tukufu Zuberi, professor of sociology and the director of the Center for Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, Gwendolyn Wright, professor of architecture at Columbia University, Elyse Luray, independent appraiser and expert in art history, and Wesley Cowan, independent appraiser and auctioneer, leave no stone unturned as they travel around the country to explore the stories behind local folklore, prominent figures, and family legends.
After 15 years of research our contributor cannot make sense of the towns and missions on this Florida Map. The place names are a mixture of French, English and Spanish. Tukufu Zuberi sets out to determine who drew this map and when, and to learn what this map can tell us about how Europe colonized Florida.
