As the Senate debates the casino bill on Beacon Hill, Mashpee Wampanoag leaders say the state is risking competition from a Native American tribal casino. Recent casino legislation eliminated a provision reserving a casino license for a federally recognized tribe. But the Wampanoag tribe says the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act allows them to offer gambling on their land, which could mean competition for any state-licensed casinos.
