Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan now face a new battle—returning to the civilian workforce. Nationally, the unemployment rate is just under 10 %, but for Iraq and Afghanistan vets the unemployment rate is 12.6 % according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. A common problem is veterans’ military experiences get lost in translation when they come home—in other words, they have to remove the military jargon from their resumes.
