FrontLines stirring report of The ConfessionsNorfolk Four raised more than a few questions in my mind Why did Govenor Kaine not give the 4 a full pardon considering there was no DNA evidence to tie the 4 to the crime? These guys having to register as sexual offenders, the humiliation and destruction of their rightful place in a communitywhat sort of justice is that? Where was the Virginia presss investigative reporters during this horrific ordeal? And finally, is there a strong chance the Detective, who coerced the confessions, will get off only with a light sentence? I wouldnt want to be in the D.A.s shoes, or the Jurys or Kaines, or that immoral detectives shoes.

An examination of the Norfolk Four case, in which four Navy sailors confessed and were convicted of the 1997 rape-murder of a Norfolk, Va., woman. DNA evidence, however, pointed to a different assailant, who later confessed to the crime.
