J.S. Bach took a trip to Italy, and learned a great deal from the musicians he met. In this piece in the style of an Italian violin concerto, the pianist does double duty, playing the role of soloist and accompanist. Chopin, on the other hand, never made it to Italy, but captures the atmosphere of Venice beautifully in his Barcarolle.
