The second in a series of features exploring Eternal Echoes - Songs and Dances for the Soul, from EMI Classics, with violinist Itzhak Perlman, Cantor Yitzchak Meir Helfgot, and the New England Conservatory's Hankus Netsky.
Based on Abraham Goldfaden's 1897 anthem "Die Yiddishe Hoffnung" (The Jewish Hope), the song speaks to those uprooted by the pogroms and other forms of persecution and looks forward to a time when King David returns and plays his fiddle (a role which Perlman is happy to play in this song!)
