Broadway or Bust

KIDS

A production of

Broadway or Bust is a WGBH-produced miniseries that follows America's top high school musical performers, in a competition to find the nation's best young stars.

Part competition, part performance and part non-fiction drama, the three-hour Broadway or Bust journey begins in regional theatrical programs, where judges select the best performers in the country. The 60 finalists descend on Broadway, where they plunge into the eye of the theatrical storm for one intense week of rehearsals, coaching, mentoring and cut-throat competition.

Finally, the “best of the best” take part in the grand finale: The National High School Musical Theatre Awards (a.k.a. The Jimmy Awards), a one night, star-studded event held at Minskoff Theatre in New York City. Who will the judges choose as the nation’s leading male and female high school musical theatre performers? Follow the excitement and the heartbreak, the drama and disappointment.
