The comments by Mary C. and Shelley makes me sorry for the state of our U.S. education system Is geography being taught? Of course Glenn Gould was an American. Canada is in North America just like a person from Argentina is also an American, from South America. A U.S. citizen is also an American from North America and because the name of our country is The United States of America.

Gould is not American so why is this Canadian featured on this partricular program? Wonderful program however, is he not misnamed an "American master?"

Gosh. I know were polite, and unassuming, but lets think this one over. Born and raised in Toronto, Im trying to figure in what universe Torontonians are considered American? Does that mean I can come and work for WGBH since Im now an American?! I realize that the inner life has no country. Just trying to wrap my head around a Canadian genius reassigned patriality as an American master...Dont you need a doctors note for that? Just saying...
