Brian O'Donovan and David Smith come together again to discuss the great music emerging from the Celtic Connections Music Festival in Glasgow, Scotland. (Pictured: the Norwegian-Celtic band Firil)

Despite the typical weather in Scotland during the month of January, David is a die-hard fan of this festival.

"It's the greatest live music festival that I've ever been to in my life," he declares. He's been doing this for 14 years now, and he says,  "You hear and see and meet musicians from all of the Celtic regions. You also see lots of hybrids forming--lots of people from different cultures and different traditions playing together, sometimes for the first time, and that is very exciting."
