WGBH Teams up with Sprinklr for Social Media Management

Technology will Support Engagement with Audiences

BOSTON (June 23, 2016) – WGBH today announced that it has partnered with Sprinklr to provide their enterprise social technology platform for the Boston-based public media producer.

As a leading producer of content for local, national and global audiences, WGBH engages expansively across TV, radio, web and digital channels. This partnership with Sprinklr will strengthen the value of WGBH’s reach across social platforms and maximize the impact of its diverse content.

Sprinklr’s leading enterprise software combines content management, social listening, automation, analytics, and audience segmentation across more than 20 social platforms, allowing organizations to manage the experiences of their customers across every touchpoint and reorient their social strategy around the user.  The platform serves more than 50% of the Fortune 50, as well as major media companies including Hearst, News UK, and Conde Nast.

Sprinklr will allow WGBH to align social content publishing and standardize a workflow across the organization; provide effective social media best practices; create core success metrics; and incorporate business intelligence on its social audience into an omni-channel marketing strategy in support of the donation-based public media business model.

“This partnership represents an important strategic step to better serve our audiences and support our mission in the increasingly socially-centered digital space,” said Bob Kempf, vice president for digital services at WGBH. “Sprinklr will enable us to manage social media operations more efficiently and help us understand and respond more effectively to the social conversation about the content we produce for public TV, radio and online.  Most important, though, are the strategic advantages gained from understanding the value of our social audience and the ability to take action on that intelligence.”

“WGBH productions have a combined social media audience of over seven million fans, and the tools and expertise to reach many more,” says director of social media, Tory Starr. “Sprinklr gives us a way to maximize our potential as individual teams and productions, while allowing us to identify and act upon opportunities to share and collaborate with each other.”

The agreement with Sprinklr also provides the opportunity for WGBH to offer the platform to other stations and organizations in the public media system. According to Kempf, “We are in a position to offer Sprinklr’s advantages more broadly.  Against a backdrop of rapidly accelerating engagement on social platforms, this can only strengthen the ability of public media stations to derive greater value from their social audiences.”

WGBH will roll out Sprinklr with its local and national production units over the summer months.
