WGBH News to Host Mayoral Debate


Candidates Walsh and Jackson agree to October 24 debate 


Debate to be moderated by Jim Braude and Margery Eagan 


BOSTON, October 5, 2017 – WGBH announced today that it will produce and moderate a debate between 2017 Boston mayoral candidates Mayor Marty Walsh and Councilor Tito Jackson. The two will square off on Tuesday, October 24 at 7pm at the WGBH studios in Brighton. The debate will be moderated by Boston Public Radio hosts Jim Braude and Margery Eagan and will be aired live on 89.7 WGBH Radioon WGBH television, and streamed on wgbhnews.org. 


Providing a forum for civic discussion is at the heart of our work in public media, and we are pleased to create another opportunity for voters to hear directly from the candidates on the topics that matter to our community,” said Phil Redo, general manager for WGBH News.  


The October 24 debate will include an audience in WGBH’s Calderwood Studio in Brighton and will air live at 7pm ET across WGBH channels, including WGBH-2, 89.7 WGBH, online at wgbhnews.org and on the WGBH app.
