Greater Boston Arts listens to Sound Art, a genre that encompasses sound sculpture, noise music, pirate radio, and found sound. Through interviews with sound artists Ellen Band and Jessica Rylan and a visit to the Boston Center for the Arts' "Boom Box" sound art exhibit, viewers learn how these artists use sound not just as material for musical melody, but as abstract texture, much like a painter's brush strokes. For more information on the Boom Box exhibit call (617) 426-5000 or visit www.bcaonline.org. For more on artist Ellen Band visit www.ellenband.com.
