Public Art with Mags Harries

In the May 2001 episode, Greater Boston Arts traces the story of the creation of Drawn Water, Mags Harries' public artwork for Fresh Pond in Cambridge. Harries is known best in Boston for her 1976 bicentennial-commissioned Asaroton, a collection of cast bronze garbage pieces embedded in the street at the Haymarket area, but has also created dozens of works nationwide with her partner Lajos Héder.

Asaroton is featured on Greater Boston Arts' recently launched public art web feature. The site also includes a tour of Ms. Harries' favorite public art pieces in the Boston area. Visit the Guide section of the Public Art web feature to see her picks and to hear her commentary.
