About NOVA:

NOVA is the most-watched prime time science series on American television, reaching an average of five million viewers weekly. Now in its fourth decade of production, the series remains committed to producing in-depth science programming in the form of one-hour documentaries and long-form mini-series, from the latest breakthroughs in technology to the deepest mysteries of the natural world. NOVA is produced by WGBH Boston and airs Wednesday nights at 9/8c on most PBS stations. 
NOVA Education and Outreach Internship Description:
Interns work closely with the NOVA Education team to tailor and deliver our high-quality content to educators nationwide. Interns will help with education projects related to both the broadcast show and digital content including NOVA Labs. Responsibilities include aiding in the production of educational resources for PBS LearningMedia, developing educational content for special projects related to upcoming shows, helping with social media campaigns, writing for the Science of Learning blog, and attending occasional conferences. Candidates must be enthusiastic and passionate science educators who have new ideas to share about STEM education.
All candidates must be an enrolled student. Due to WGBH policies, the internship is unpaid. However, we are committed to offering our interns worthwhile, fulfilling learning experiences and opportunities to become immersed in the promotion of an award-winning, widely recognized media brand.  
Skills Preferred:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organized and detail oriented
Must be comfortable using social networking platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+)
Experience developing digital educator resources preferred
Interest in science, education, pedagogy, and communication
Creative skills a plus
Time Commitment:
In order for our education and outreach interns to have a meaningful experience, we require at least a 16-hour/week commitment. Full days are not necessary, but a regular schedule is preferred.
We offer fall semester internships (Sept-Jan) and spring semester internships (Jan-May). We do not offer summer internships. However, if you do have a strong interest please inquire further.
