WGBH's Human Resources department partners with internal customers to provide a broad array of programs and services. HR partners with management to recruit and retain a highly qualified diverse workforce; facilitate positive employee and labor relations; provides professional development and mentoring to enhance employee skills, performance and job satisfaction; and designs and delivers fair, competitive benefit and compensation programs.
Internship Description:
The Human Resources intern will be responsible for assisting the staff in various aspects of hiring, benefits administration, compensation, and training and development programs. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to coordinate and host various student events, collaborating and communicating with employees from various departments at WGBH.  
The internship position will provide opportunities for students to learn about the many aspects of HR administration including: resume screening, interviewing, new employee orientation, employee relations, event planning and employee benefit plans. The student will work closely with the entire staff to gain an understanding of Human Resources through the hands-on experiences and creative projects provided. 
Skills Preferred:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration
  • Excellent customer service capabilities
  • Knowledge of administrative management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Social media management skills a plus. 
Preferred majors: Communication, Business Administration, Film and Television, Marketing, or other related fields.
