Educational Outreach

The Educational Outreach Department at WGBH works to extend the impact of public broadcasting through a variety of media services, educational materials, and collaborative activities designed to engage individuals and foster community participation in addressing issues of concern. Our outreach work provides educational experiences for young people in classrooms, libraries, after-school programs, community-based organizations, museums, etc., as well as supporting the professional development of the professionals and paraprofessionals who work with them.

Internship Description

The Department is looking for an intern interested in working on a variety of outreach projects that use a transmedia approach to help prevent the summer reading slide, build cultural awareness and appreciation, and promote science inquiry in young children. Position requires approximately 20 hours/week. Duties will include research, social media messaging, database entry, and assignments and general office support as needed. Candidate should be able to work independently as well as within a team.

Skills Preferred

Strong communicator with writing and editing skills, and experience with social media. Knowledge of MAC Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management.
