Marketing / Communications Intern

WGBH is public broadcasting for New England—on TV, radio, the Web, and out in the community. We're the single largest producer of PBS programming (TV, online, mobile) and a major source of programs heard on public radio from coast to coast. We're a pioneer in educational multimedia and in media access technologies for people with hearing or vision loss.

Department Description:

The Marketing and Communications Department provides branding, marketing, public relations, communications and editorial support to the WGBH Educational Foundation and to the various production units of which it is comprised.

Position Description:

The Marketing Communications Intern will work closely with the directors of strategic marketing, public relations and constituent communications.

Job responsibilities include assisting with:

  • development and promotion of content for blogs and publications
  • social media activities including, but not limited to, sourcing content to share, creating content, posting content, "participating in the online conversation" about topics related to WGBH , tracking and measuring the success of our social media efforts
  • development of marketing materials
  • public relations support
  • internal communications support
  • other tasks as required

  • exceptional writing skills
  • a working knowledge of the main social media channels and how to communicate via social media on behalf of an organization or brand
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft office programs

  • Ability to take direction and work independently
