If someone had told Professor Rosa Maria Pegueros when she arrived at the University of Rhode Island less than two decades ago that Providence would elect a latino mayor with over 80 percent of the vote, she says she would have "dropped on the floor, laughing." But in the years since she arrived feeling like the only latina for miles, she's seen huge growth in the latino population, and big changes for latinos in the city. She joins us.
