District 3 Derby
The Boston City Council election cycle is upon us. And today we begin our Boston City Councillor candidate roundtables, focusing on the Dorchester (District 3) Derby.
For 18 years, Boston City Councilor Maureen Feeney has been securely seated as Dorchester’s city councilor. When Feeney announced that she would not seek a ninth term, candidates lined up to throw their hats into the ring. Now there are seven candidates on the ballot and the roster is as diverse as the district itself: from seasoned politicos, to community activists, to small business owners—today we meet four of the seven vying to represent Dorchester, vying to take on the challenges of this community—from preventing crime to creating jobs.
Today we hear from Boston City Council candidates Stephanie Everett, Doug Bennett, Marty Hogan, and Craig Galvin. Next Wednesday, we'll do another roundtable with the other candidates: John O’Toole, Marydith Tuitt, and Frank Baker.
