Political Roundtable
The results are in. It’s a good year for incumbents. Ayanna Pressley earned the most votes in the Boston City Council At-Large race. It looks like voters thought outside the ballot box, defying the conventional wisdom that Pressley would be the most vulnerable candidate. The rest of the At-Large incumbents also remain safe in their sets. District 7's Tito Jackson took all, and in District 2 incumbent Bill Linehan squeaked by with a margin of 87 votes. The only fresh face in Boston’s legislative body is Frank Baker, who beat John O’Toole in the District 3 derby.
From City Hall, we’ll look at state and national headlines from the Massachusetts senate race, to Bill Clinton’s book tour, complete with tender reprimands for the Democrats. From Beantown to the beltway- we’ll talk through it all on our political roundtable with Marvin Venay, executive director of the Massachusetts Black and Latino Democratic Legislative Caucus; Kelly Bates, executive director of the Access Strategies Fund; and Erin O’Brien, associate professor of Political Science at UMass Boston.
