Chicano actor Ricardo Antonio Chavira is best known for playing Carlos Solis on the hit show Desperate Housewives. He has also appeared in a wide variety of television and theatrical productions, including 24, Monk, and Jack and Jill at the Guthrie Theater. His mother’s death from breast cancer when he was 15 inspired his current involvement with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, for which he is San Antonio’s honorary spokesman and the National Team Captain for the Race for the Cure.
