María Hinojosa is an award-winning journalist and author. In addition to hosting One-on-One, Hinojosa is the managing editor and host of public radio’s Latino USA. Fomerly, she was a senior correspondent for the PBS newsmagazine program NOW.

Since 1993, NPR’s Latino USA has been documenting one of the most incredible transformations of American life and reality—the exploding Latino population and its integration in the a changing America.

Paul Cuadros is an award-winning investigative reporter who writes about immigration, race and poverty. In 1999, Cuadros won an Alicia Patterson Foundation fellowship to report on the impact of the large number of Latino poultry workers in rural towns in the South. As a result he wrote A Home on the Field: How One Championship Team Inspires Hope for the Revival of Small Town America. The son of Peruvian immigrants, he talks with Maria about borders, racism, and what he calls “generation illegal” --the million-plus children growing up in the United States as undocumented immigrants.
