Jazz violinist and MacArthur Genius Regina Carter kicked off a new musical series presented by Boston Public Radio 89.7FM and Scullers Jazz Club, broadcasting live from the landmark jazz venue.
Ms. Carter played field recordings of traditional African melodies to introduce the origins of several songs she performed from her new album Reverse Thread.
The next live broadcast from Scullers will feature jazz vocalist Roberta Gambarini on Feb. 1, 2013.
