Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Leon Kirchner celebrates his 90th birthday on Jan. 24, 2009. During his time on the faculty of Harvard University (1961-1991) he was a signature voice in Boston's music scene, and in November 2006 he visited WGBH for a conversation with Cathy Fuller and pianist Joel Fan, who performed the composer's Piano Sonata No. 3, "The Forbidden."
