How can you get the most out of playing Haydn? Ask pianist and conductor Christian Zacharias and he'll tell you: "You have to be as good as Haydn!" Every tiny nuance and gesture must be absolutely, fully alive. And if Mozart somehow suddenly appeared, what would Christian Zacharias want to ask him? The answer might surprise you. Zacharias is conducting and playing the piano this week with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and it was a pleasure having him in our Fraser Performance Studio to talk a bit about Haydn, Mozart and the sheer joy of collecting contemporary art.
