The annual New Year's Day concert from the Vienna Philharmonic is one of the highlights of the winter holiday season, and PBS's Great Performances has been bringing you the event since 1985.
This year's production featured host Paula Zahn and included dancers from the Vienna State Opera in gorgeous locations, from the Musikverein itself all over Vienna and beyond, including the Winter Riding School in the Hofburg Palace, home of the famed Lipizzaner Stallions, he former Lobkovitz Palace, and now the Austrian Theatre Museum, where Beethoven’s “Eroica Symphony” was first played, and the amazing Vienna State Opera.
