CELTIC A Celtic Sojourn

This week Brian brings you Parting Songs, or songs for the end of an evening or gathering. These songs are often sung as the final piece to a music party or a weekend, usually with a rousing chorus and always with a toast to those assembled and a pledge to gather again soon.

Selections include: "The Parting Song" by the English Harmony group, "Beggar’s Velvet", "Here’s to You", made popular in the US by the late Dublin singer Frank Harte, and of course, "The Parting Glass".

For that last iconic song, Brian chose a recording of the Clancy Brothers (pictured) from their now famous concert given at Carnegie Hall in 1962.
