Thanks to you and the millions of Americans who called or wrote your Senators and Representatives, WGBH and local public television and radio stations across the United States will continue to benefit from funding support from the federal government, with only a very small cut. Congress heard how you feel about the value public broadcasting brings to your life.

Efforts to reduce the federal deficit will of course continue. And while public stations are prepared to share in the sacrifice, it’s important that we keep front and center the crucial role federal dollars play in the funding mix that fuels public media. So we may, in the months ahead, ask you to again tell Congress how you feel.

For now, thank you for preserving public broadcasting—America's largest classroom, the nation's largest stage for the arts, and a trusted window to the world. We hope you’ll take a moment to thank your Senators and Representatives for supporting public media... and that you'll keep letting them know how you feel.

As vital as federal funding is to the programs and services you treasure, the most essential ingredient is your membership dollars. Thank you for continuing to support WGBH. And if you're not already a part of the WGBH family, please become a member!
