Patrick is making his first bid for elective office. President Clinton appointed him

Attorney General for Civil Rights in 1994. After returning to private practice in 1997, he's
been the
General Counsel for Texaco and for Coca Cola, Patrick has served on the boards of
several major
corporations.

Kerry Healey

Healey is presently Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts. She first won elective office
in 2002 as Mitt
Romney's
running
mate. As Lieutenant Governor, Healey acts
as liaison with cities and towns and focuses on law enforcement issues including
tougher sentencing
for drunk drivers She is unopposed for her party's nomination.

Christy Mihos

Mihos is in his second run for elective office. A lifelong Republican, Mehos decided to
run for governor
as an Independent. A native of Brockton, his grandfather started the Christy's Market
convenience
store chain, which Mihos and his brother took over in the late 1970s.

Grace Ross

Ross is the Green-Rainbow Party candidate, a party formed in 2002
when the Green Party and the Rainbow Coalition merged. She was previously the co-
chair of the Green-
Rainbow party. This is her first run for political
office.

Tim Murray
Murray is the Mayor of Worcester. After graduating from Fordham, he put himself through
law
school, working during the day as a substitute teacher and taking classes at night.
Murray later became
a partner in the law firm of Tattan, Leonard and Murray. He was elected to the Worcester
City Council in
1997 and elected mayor in 2001.
