About Us

The Cape and Islands NPR stations, WCAI 90.1fm, WNAN 91.1fm and WZAI 94.3fm are listener-supported public radio stations serving Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and the south coast. Founded by local residents, the stations are a service of WGBH Radio. We strive to celebrate the uniqueness of the communities that we serve while discussing common issues.

Mission
As a service of the WGBH Educational Foundation, the Cape and Islands NPR stations share the same mission as WGBH:

Our purpose is to promote the general education of the public by offering television, radio, and other telecommunications programs and services that inform, inspire, and entertain, so that persons of all ages, origins, and beliefs may be encouraged, in an atmosphere of artistic freedom, to learn and appreciate the history, the sciences, the humanities, the fine arts, the practical arts, the music, the politics, the economics, and other significant aspects of the world they live in, and thereby to enrich and improve their lives.
