Discover the real story of the notorious author, starring Denis O'Hare as Boston-born Edgar Allan Poe. American Masters explores the misrepresentations of Poe and reveals how he tapped into what it means to be human in a modern and sometimes frightening world.

Today’s mural shows Poe in three forms: in a photo of the man himself, as played by O’Hare, and as sculpted and immortalized in brass near Boston Common.

Watch Edgar Allan Poe: Buried Alive tonight at 9pm on WGBH 2.
