It's Really Spring, Promise!

Still smarting from Sunday's spring snowstorm? Let the crocuses on today's mural and in gardens around town drive the white stuff from our minds and remind us that we have months of buds and blossoms ahead!

One species of crocus is the source of the spice saffron, which through history has remained among the world's most costly substances. Cleopatra added saffron to her baths. It has been used as a perfume and dye, as well as for medicinal purposes. What a hard-working little plant!
