Basic Black After The Broadcast: Who Should Have Created the MLK Memorial?

(Originally streamed January 13, 2012)

After the broadcast the conversation turned to focus on the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial on the National Mall.  The Interior Secretary announced that the paraphrased quote referring to Dr. King's remarks about being a "drum major for justice" will be revised to reflect Dr. King's actual words,  But the discussion heated up when it turned to the topic of who should have been awarded the honor of creating the monument.

Our panel tonight: Callie Crossley, Host of The Callie Crossley Show, 89.7 WGBH Radio; Kim McLarin, Cultural commentator and Assistant Professor of Writing, Literature and Publishing, Emerson College; Phillip Martin, Senior Reporter, 89.7 WGBH Radio; and Ravi Perry, Professor of Political Science, Clark University.
