The Daily Drink: Homemade Granola

By Cathy Huyghe

"Sure, you think of granola as a breakfast food and breakfast, to most people, means coffee. Nothing wrong with that pairing! The beauty of this recipe, however, are the ingredients that you can pick and choose to highlight during snack time at other parts of the day as well.

Celestial Seasonings, for example, makes a line of dessert teas with one in particular (called Almond Sunset) that is especially suited to bring out the almond component of Chef Copps’ recipe.

The same company also makes a decaffeinated Chai tea called Sweet Coconut Thai that highlights the coconut in the recipe though, if you added maple syrup rather than honey as a mix-in to sweeten the tea, you’d be treated to a double dose of flavor complementarity.
