In Falmouth, Mass., the "circle of life" plays out not just in nature, but in the arts. Kevin King is an artist who makes his own paint, collecting and burning real elements that will become the subjects of his paintings, and from the ashes creating his own painting medium.

This story on King by Sarah P. Reynolds is part of the Creative Life series on WCAI.
