BOSTON — Leicester, Mass. resident B.J. Hill walked across the United States. His destination: The Oval Office. His mission: To collect notes from everyone he met to hand-deliver to the president. On Dec. 2, Hill fulfilled both of these goals — and Sen. John Kerry arranged a meeting with President Obama.
Kerry voiced his support for the project on “The Callie Crossley Show” on Dec. 8.
“I think there is something very human and fundamental about it,” he said. “These are real voices from America speaking to the President through the remarkable commitment and journey of one person.”
Kerry thought project represented real talk from real people, rather than what he called the "crazy, contrived, traveling reality show circus" of presidential politics.
