Today's 4:00 Request is from Michael of Gainesville, FL: "I was hoping to hear Samuel Barber’s String Quartet, Op. 11.  After reading this piece on The Saddest Music Ever Written, I would be interested in hearing this played...It’s been a while since I’ve heard the 'Adagio for Strings' portion, but I’ve never heard the whole piece.  Could you please play it for today’s request?" Yes, we will, Michael - we'll play the whole quartet, in an exclusive WGBH recording of the Shanghai Quartet performing at the Rockport Chamber Music Festival in 2005.
