Oct. 6: The Czech Phil

Earlier this year I had the privilege to accompany a group of 99.5 All Classical listeners on a Learning Tour of Central Europe, and the tour ended in the gorgeous city of Prague.   I had always heard about it as a lively, beautiful, and friendly city, but to experience it first hand was unforgettable.

There are plenty of stories to tell, but on the musical front, it was terrific to hear the Czech Philharmonic in Dvorak Hall at the Rudolfinum, their concert hall right along the banks of the Moldau River.  They played Bruckner's Fourth Symphony, and as far as I was concerned it was one of the best performances of that piece I've ever heard.
