The Norfolk Chamber Music Festival begins on July 7 and runs through August 11.
Concerts are held in the Music Shed, an acoustically superb yet rustic structure designed E.K. Rossiter and dedicated in 1906.
The festival has a rich history, dating back to the 1890's, and intertwined with the Yale Universtiy School of Music. It was in 1939 that Ellen Battell Stoeckel left her estate to Yale in order that it be used as the home of the university's summer music school.
Here is a slideshow that offers a small taste of the beauty of the estate. More pictures, along with schedule and concert information, are available at the festival's website.
